Racism in the Netherlands? Oh nooo! What a surprise…

How is everyone? We are around that time of the year where Christmas is right around the corner and everyone is getting giddy and excited about Christmas. Well, in the case of the Dutch they are getting ready to first celebrate Zwarte Piet. And what do you know? There is actually racism in the Netherlands even though they try really hard to portray themselves as tolerant. But what do you know, they really were not tolerant at all especially when it came to their racist tradition.

“Why does everything have to be about race?”

Nothing grinds my gear more than hearing someone say “why does everything have to be about race?” If you truly believe that everything in this world does not involve race and [in many cases religion] then you are either:

  1. Completely blind to other’s plights;
  2. It does not affect you so you do not want to know or do not care to know;

  3. You are in denial.

People should learn to appreciate what they were born with!

Bon nochi (papiamento = good night) everyone! I hope you are enjoying your week and continue to enjoy it. Today as most of you already may know is my Opinion Wednesdays where I just like to choose a subject that has somewhat interested, annoyed, saddened, and encouraged me and I state my opinion. Well today I would like to talk about how people should appreciate with what they were born with because you hear too many people talking about getting plastic surgery here, getting Botox there, getting liposuction down there, getting breast enhancements etc. And the list goes on.
