Unapologetically Black

Hey, Hey, Hey Tomodachi’s!

It feels like it has almost been forever since the last time I wrote anything on my blog. I hope you can forgive me for pulling another one of my disappearing acts on you all. I have missed blogging after not blogging for the past three months.

If you follow my Instagram and other social media pages I recently posted on my Instagram page explaining the reasons for my disappear and how I would be back, out and about on my social media pages and blog. And here I am! With a new poem! Continue reading

For a while now, I have become quite disappointed in anime because of their use of some tv tropes…

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How have you all been today? For me, it has been a very windy day not to mention I was having some bike issues because something got wrapped up in the wheel and chain of my bike which caused the chain to come loose and made me have to walk all the way home in this damn windy and cold weather. Though, this is not one of the reasons why I am writing this blog.  Continue reading

Women also enjoy having sex just as much as any man

Hello Tomodachi’s,

How are you all? I am almost getting ready to go to my Japanese lessons but just decided to write something brief on my blog before I go.

From the title alone you must be wondering what topic I have up my sleeve this time, right? Earlier today I came across an article about three women who practically kidnapped a man from off the streets and raped him. Many of these articles that I read, I go to the comment section to see what people have to say or what they are thinking. And of course there are nice comments, bad comments, means comments, crazy comments and everything in between. Just like any other comment section. But then I came across another commenter responding to someone and he said something along the lines of “there are some women who’s sex drive is more than normal”… So, what is considered a normal sex drive for a woman?

Is being too carefree a bad or good thing?

Konnichiwa Tomodachi’s!

How are you all this very warm blessed Monday! The weather is so great today that honestly I do not know what to do with myself. 😅

I thought I was supposed to work at 2 pm but ended up seeing wrong and instead it was for 6 pm. How laughable. How could I get such a thing confused. Now I am stuck in Rotterdam with a couple of hours to spare 😂. What should I do?

Anyway, there has been a few things going through my mind that I would like to share. Something happened not too long ago and it got me thinking maybe I am a little too carefree and do not get angry enough at people.

I am split when it comes to if I really like my carefree nature or not. Part of me likes my spontaneous and carefree nature and another part of me does not like it. For those of you who know the anime character Luffy from One Piece featured on this blog post, you would know what a crazy and carefree nature he has but when he gets angry for whatever reason he really gets ANGRY. I can relate to Luffy a lot, minus his crazy and troublesome nature. I even sometimes aspire to be more like him because he just has so much fun and lives his life to the fullest the way he wants to live his life, though he drives his friends and crewmembers crazy at times. That’s why I really like his character!

On the other side of the same coin, there will be people who would take advantage of your carefree nature or take advantage of the fact that you seldom get angry. Very, very few people has seen me really get angry. Not even some of my closest friends (especially here in the Netherlands) has ever seen me get really angry because I am the type of person who does not like disturbing the peace or making a mole into a mountain. I dislike stressing too much over things or make a big deal of it. This is because:

  1. I know we are all human and we all make all types of silly or major blunders during the course of our lives which is normal and,
  2. I dislike getting angry or stressed over silly things because life is too short to be wasting energy or being angry or stressed. In this short life of mine I want to spend it the best way I possibly can and that includes not always getting angry .

Of course, I get a little frustrated at times and even a little irritated but I seldom get very angry.

I wonder, though, if some people treat me  in a certain way because they are aware that I do not really get angry. Like the saying goes “A monkey knows what tree to climb on”.

Yes, I seldom get angry because of my carefree nature but when I get angry I get really angry, just like Luffy. I explode like a volcano eruption and it takes a very long time to get me settled down again. I take and take and take and then unexpectedly I explode on people. No one knows when I will explode (some people probably do not even expect me to), not even I know when the next time I will explode until it suddenly happens.

So, what do you readers think? Would you say being carefree is a good or bad thing if you were in my position? And what would you do about it?

I have really come to like Japanese (and some Korean) dramas

Hey everyone. How are you all? Today I am going to be writing just a short post about my new found interest in watching Japanese dramas and Korean movies respectively.

I am a little curious of how many of you all are interested in Asian dramas and movies (Japanese, Korean, Thai etc.)? Only recently have I started getting a real interest in watching Japanese and Korean dramas. I have watched a few Japanese, Korean and Thai dramas and movies in the past but I am an all loving anime fan and I do not really strayed far away from it. However, nowadays I find myself watching and listening to more and more Asian entertainment, most of which is Japanese and Korean.

When I tell my friends and my new acquaintances that I generally watch or listen to things not related at all to American entertain, I usually get a strange and confused look. As if they are silently asking me with their eyes “Why would you ever be interested in anything but American entertainment, especially when you are an English speaker?” Have any of you Asian entertainment fans ever experienced this? But YES, I do enjoy Japanese and Korean entertainment and I cannot tell you the last time I really watched any American entertainment. All I can truly say is that Asian entertainment is just as enjoyable as American television. Maybe even more so than not. You just probably have to get use to their kind of humour.

Anyway, on Saturday I decided to watch a Japanese drama series, Nobunaga Concerto, which is an adaption from the Nobunaga Concerto anime and manga series. If you are a person who are somewhat acquainted with Japanese manga, anime or dramas, somewhere along the line you must have come across the name Nobunaga. He is quite the renowned character in Japanese history. He was a warlord of the Oda Clan when Japan was not unified as it is now. Japan was separated into several states and these states were ruled over by various clansmen. During those times it was called the Warring States Era. Nobunaga was the man who had the dream of ending wars by unifying Japan and he went through hell and back to make that dream a reality. Before it was practically stolen from under him (because he was betrayed and killed by his own retainer) before he could fully complete his dream.

The drama pretty accurately follows the historical events that occur during Nobunaga’s reign. However, the story is not 100% non-fiction. The story starts off with a male high school student, Subaru, who gets thrown back in time to the warring states regime. When he first time travels to this foreign land he meets his doppelganger who is the real Nobunaga fleeing from his duties and out of harms way. So they end up trading places. Anyway, to make a long story short, Subaru, who pretends to be Nobunaga in the real Nobunaga’s stead, has to find his way in this new world and learn how to lead this clan members into a better future where everyone can smiling happily and will no longer have to suffer from the countless raging wars. In my opinion, a lot of wars could have been prevented if people back then did not betraying each other left right and centre; and if some of the good rulers were not swayed by evil, heartless people who were only looking out for themselves and not the well being of the people.

I enjoyed the series a lot and found it quite comedic and emotional at the same time. I would definitely recommend this drama for those of you interested in watching Japanese dramas. If you have not done so already.

Anyway, I hope you liked this post and I will see you all next time. Take care.

Saturday’s Anime con

Hello everyone! Just like I did last year I just wanted to post my most recent experience at an anime convention at the World Forum in The Hague. I started my day off at 6.30 in the morning. Yes, you heard right! I woke up 6.30 on a Saturday morning which was the first time I ever woke up so early on a Saturday morning. I was amazed. Anyway, I began to get ready to go to the convention about around almost 12. I prepared sandwiches, some fruit and drinks because I was money-less and was not able to buy anything. Besides, I only had 3 euros in my pocket and the food and snacks at the anime convention is usually very expensive, so a few euros would have definitely not been able to sustain me for the whole day at the convention. No way. Continue reading
