Hey there Tomodachi’s,
It has been quite a while since my last blog post. Hope you all are doing well. Anyway, I am in somewhat of a predicament. Nothing too serious of course but still a predicament nonetheless.
The story goes something like this.
My family used to have a pet dog in our yard that helped keep out animals and unwanted things from the yard. Not to mention, it was quite a big dog and at times could be aggressive towards anyone or anything not a part of the family and household, when it was not being a coward. However, this dog no longer lives at our house and gradually we have been seeing the increase of some animals that used to stay away because of this dog. They are beginning to come closer and closer to our house. One of these animals is the island iguanas.
For a long time now my mother has had the habit of feeding bread to the many iguanas that live on our quite sizeable yard. They would come up from the bushes to our yard, specifically by the kitchen area, and my mother would throw scraps of bread she would save in case they would come around. Anyway, since returning to Saba, she seem to have a particular iguana she likes to feed now. An iguana she likes to call her ‘friend’. I have seen her walk up so close to this particular iguana to give it bread and it would just stand there waiting for her to feed him. What a smart fellow. Letting her do all the work.
That’s all fine and dandy, however, what frightens the living crap out of me is that on a number of ocassions it has tried crawling through the semi-opened kitchen door and my mother just coes at it. 🤔😐😐
I’ve already told her that she will not be coeing if it one day ends up walking into her room. I remember one day just sitting at the kitchen table, with my mother, eating breakfast and minding my own business when this bad boy just starts crawling under the door and into the kitchen! I never in my life screamed so hard! I was just so shocked and flabbergasted at what was happening. I shooed it away with a broom that was laying around in the kitchen. And my mother had the audacity to say “Awww!” 😒😒😬
