How are you all doing? Although this post is a little late, it is still Mother’s Day and therefore still relevant. So, Happy Mother’s Day first off to my very own mother, as well as to all those soon-to-be-mothers, new mothers, mothers who have adopted or mothers who have been doing their thang for as long as they can remember.
To commemorate this special day I would like to dedicate a poem to all you beautiful women who happen to also be mothers. Thank you all for being there for your families and children. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your unconditional love, tenderness, sternness and care. Although this poem sounds a little ‘worshippy’, I believe mothers (and many fathers… but it is not Father’s Day yet) deserve a little worshipping sometimes. Mothers do not get the praise they deserve.
So, here goes…
Happy Mother’s Day, My Queen!
I wish a Happy Mothers Day,
To the Queen of my existence,
The Queen of my heart,
The Queen of my soul,
The Queen, also known as my mother,
You are the only one I know who can reign over your kingdom with a mighty fist
But remain as elegant and dignified as any other,
Just like a true Goddess should.
I respect you and I love you,
And there will never be any other that could replace you
In all the days of my life.
